AI-powered mental health chatbots developed as a therapy support tool

Can Conversation Agents (fancy name for AI chatbots) help people with ASD? Here’s a recent study conducted using Wysa. Speaking of Wysa, see below for an overview.

Business Highlight of the Week

“Accessible mental health support for everyone, anytime. Whether you're seeking help, supporting a team, or delivering care—Wysa is here to help.”

They have raised over 25 Million in investment funding.

Though they promote employing mental health professionals, there are no current job openings for licensed clinicians.

Here’s the deal…

Wysa is a mental health app and chatbot designed to provide accessible, AI-driven mental health support. Launched in 2017 by Jo Aggarwal and Ramakant Vempati, the platform combines AI chatbot technology with evidence-based mental health practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and mood tracking. Wysa offers users a safe, anonymous space to manage mental health challenges, with the AI chatbot guiding users through exercises to improve mental well-being. For those who need additional support, Wysa also provides access to human therapists through in-app services. The app has been used by millions globally and is particularly popular for its approachability, round-the-clock availability, and affordability.

The cost: free, but there’s also a charge for a premium version with 'convenient features' (eg. direct access to tools), as well as Wysa Emotional Wellbeing Professional Services (direct access to experienced mental health and wellbeing professionals)
